Our 2020 curator, Asiya Wadud, has released a new book of poems, No Knowledge Is Complete Until It Passes Through My Body, 2021, Nightboat Books, New York. The collection has received high praise including from Evie Shockley (NPR). She writes “This poetry is filled with incantatory language and startling details; it ranges through history and the natural world, composing a compelling metaphysics of black diasporic womanhood.”

Marcus Leslie Singleton’s work is being shown in the one-person exhibition, Future Memories at Turn Gallery (NYC) until June 12.
In his statement he writes, “The main entity tying this series of work together is time and how it interacts with the black body. My aim in making these paintings between my residency in Wellfleet, MA and Brooklyn studio was to elaborate on the complex dance between time, space, experience and our bodies.”

Brittany Engel-Adams recently presented two pieces that she worked on while in Wellfleet, Architecture of Memory which tackles ancestry, loss, facticity, and the imagination, andHand Dance, a dance film commissioned by the Guggenheim Works & Process, made in collaboration with David Lang, Annie-B Parson, Brittany Engel-Adams, and Ron Erlih.
