ARTIST / SCHOLAR RESIDENCY
The Outer Cape’s landscape of beaches, pine woods, tidal marshes, and glacial ponds has drawn artists, writers, and political thinkers since the nineteenth century. Starting in the late 1930s it also attracted some of the prime movers of the Modern Movement.
In this spirit, since 2010, CCMHT has hosted an annual artist/scholar residency which has included architects, composers, filmmakers, researchers, academics, and visual artists in many forms of media.
Each year we select a curator working in a particular field, who in turn selects a group of participants to stay in our restored houses. The curator has broad discretion to determine the parameters and form of the stay, including amount of solitary and group time, and cross collaboration.
